What discombobulating times! Is this what a riptide feels like, ya think? Land mines and sharp edges line the rocky path.
It is a period of digital nerve-impingement. Can you feel it? Can you feel?
Did you know brain neurons grow healthier in silence? How cool is that?
I choose a silent, cottage life now. Simplicity over spectacle.
Non-digital time restores my circulation. Anticoagulates me. It helps my gut-brain axis co-regulate.

I am allergic to superficiality. World of plastic mutiny. Disturbed feedback loops. Smallness. Performance. Violence. Loud noises. Inflamed situations.
I am allergic to places where trust and peace are in short supply. Anaphylactic even.

Modern humans are overstimulated and disturbed. (Mis) Information and peopling are types of stimulation. We received little to no “stimulation literacy” training.
We can assess risks and benefits of our choices.
We can direct our attention accordingly.
An information diet is a stimulation diet. A peopling diet is also a stimulation diet. See how that works?
May we learn what uniquely calms and disturbs us?
May we cultivate stimulation awareness skills on and off-screen ?
MICROBE WHISPERERS
I have the alphabet soup behind my name. That pile of medical degrees mocks me at every turn now. Pricey dust collectors. At least they offer no regrets.
Infectious Disease Docs are trained to have prediction-savvy brains. We are situational awareness gurus. We understand complex pattern recognition across systems real-time. We are used to living with daily uncertainty. We care about ecosystems.
Countless lives are saved this way. Be it human or microbe ones.
I love my field of intense study: lnfectious Diseases. But the word disease evokes archaic, pathology-based frameworks. It is not a man vs. microbe war, Sapiens. We would die without our lovebugs- invisible microbe support network.
I would like to rename my field STAT, please. From Infectious Diseases Doctors to:
Alchemists for infections of living beings/living/leisure.
Land stewards.
Microbe whisperers.
May we move away from disease-centric views by now?
May we move towards eco-centric relational views already?

PSYCHOLOGY OF FEAR
People fear present moments. Don’t you ever wonder why?
Beats me. It seems like an unhealthy fear, though. I mean, why on Earth would we fear something wholesome and empowering?
Healthy fear (fear that is moderated and clarified) has a survival advantage. It appears that our brain wires got crossed.
Presence does not perform. It notices. Observes. Questions. Grows. Empowers. Connects. Stabilizes. Regulates.
Wild fear theories:
Mass unhealthy fear is manufactured as a way of control.
Norms of socialization are like amygdala nurseries on steroids and miracle-gro.
“Rage Artificial intelligence” has taken over tech platforms.
Media/tech hijacks attention and creates loud and nasty dominant narratives.
What we pay attention to grows.
SHADES OF PEOPLE
I like to think of this tree metaphor for types of people in my life- Jay Shetty sums it up here. Varieties offer seasonal shade and protection.
Some people are leaf people- ones who come and go with seasons.
Some are like branches. Strong with risks of breaking during storms.
Some people are root people. Invisible and foundational. Think mycelial network. Unseen felt connections.
Some people are trunk people. Visible. Rooted. Towering. Sacred.






FOOD AND MOOD
This year of silent experimentation is packed with discoveries. These are some of my favorites:
I feel/sleep better when I eat fresh and clean. Eat my flowers. It is as simple as that.
What I eat directly affects my emotions/sleep (any form of input/ingestion). My gut microbiota is like a coregulation diva.
I observe cycle from seed to stool. Stool is filled with our lovebugs (gut flora co-regulators). Compost work requires daily digestion. It is awareness of the entire process that heals.
FYI: My Sanctuary of Awareness Pilot project rhythm changes. It pauses and grows in real time. Thank you all for your patience.
I am spending most of my time right now outside and in reverence of Spring. Hope you can do the same.

Wow. So much here! Microbe whisperer, yes. Moving toward wholeness, leaving dis-ease behind. May you be well, Nessa.
Sometimes? Less is better. 'Yes' instead of a wall of me-centered text. My only 'escape' from 'everything going on'(sorry for a useless phrase but you know what I mean), is found in certain scriptures where I find purity, a straight path. This, at best is attacked, a mixture. For my sanity,
I need unmixed to let me know there is goodness.
I liked what you wrote, I love simple, no filthy lucre involved where possible (!). I'd rather pick and identify mushrooms, enjoying the earthy scent. A useful point someone made? Not only snatch those moments, better? take a mental photo. Every day.
