Wild Kinship
Another Brief Love
Dear Ones,
Hi Storyweavers. What a world. What a time. We navigate the paradox of loud violence and noble silence.
The way forward is not clear. We feel something in our bones.
It is not about red or blue. It is not about pink or blue. That view is a catastrophic trap.
We are what we say. Be impeccable with your word. Bite your silver tongues.
Things are always growing. Everything is rapidly evolving. There is a lot of growing going on. What’s really growing on?
The future human has fusion human-nature-tech intelligence.
Innovation arises out of disruption. At least we have raw materials to build now. Use fertilizer from the rubble of our collective sh*t.
New cultural models crop up. Reorganizers from the ground up.
Additions by subtractions.
INTERSTITIUMS
As a biologist, I study living beings. All types. I investigate relationships of living beings. I mostly do this by being around things that are alive and things that are dead. Exist in interstitiums- the invisible improbable spaces between it all. Observations. Experimentations.
I will never choose between plant, animal, or microbial kingdoms. In the same way, I will never choose between East or West. Between sun or moon. Light or dark.
Don’t ever ask me to do the impossible again.
FELT SENSE
Have you ever sensed something seconds before your mind catches up to it? Clocked a feeling before there were words for it? It is such a subtle insight. It feels like pre-mind adaptive awareness. Maybe we can call it somatic intuition. Embodied perception. Enhanced cognition.
Have you ever felt yourself hearing or seeing something? You don’t just see or hear it. You don’t just witness it. You feel it. You feel yourself seeing and hearing something. Someone.
Present moment attunement leads to this type of felt-sense mastery.
Regular practice of meditation helps enhance many brain regions allowing for synchronized function.
Exteroceptive and interoceptive synchrony occur when our inner sense aligns with the outer world. This experience of coherence is similar to flow states. It is just like a muscle that grows stronger with practice.
Exteroception: Insight into the external world, such as what/how you see, hear, and touch.
Interoception: Insight into the internal world or bodily state, like heart rate, breathing, emotions, hunger, or fatigue.
BROKEN HEART SYNDROME
In medical training, we admitted patients with Takotsubo or broken heart syndrome to the cardiac intensive care unit. Takotusbo is defined as a weakening of the left ventricle, the heart’s main pumping chamber. It occurs when a person experiences severe emotional or physical stress. It is also aptly known as stress cardiomyopathy. A temporary weakening of the heart muscle forms a characteristic balloon shape on imaging. More than 90% of reported cases are described in women aged 58 to 75.
It feels like all of us have Takotsubo right now. Collectively. Or at least some undescribed broken heart equivalent. Call it what you want.
Bodies of all living beings respond to external stressors.
WISDOM KEEPERS
Intellectology is the systematic study of different types of intelligence (biological, hybrid, artificial, extraterrestrial). It is a term introduced by AI safety researcher, Dr. Ramon Yampolskiy.
It begs the question: Who are the real wisdom keepers in this seemingly elder-deficient world?
Who and where are they? They are not peacocking on center stages. They are not shouting from rooftops. Forming 3-ring circuses.
Who are the wisdom keepers on Earth? Humans or more than humans?

WILD TRANSIENT KINSHIP
We have yet to meet everything and everyone we love. How cool is that?
On 11/3/25, I spent the night with a male Swallowtail butterfly. It was a beautiful accidental encounter. I found him near death on the ground out back. I discovered he was male and read that swallowtails only live 2-4 weeks short. I figured his transition was nearing. I brought the grandfather inside for 1 night of warmth and fruit.
And the rest is history.
He ate Kiwi with gusto and slept still on an orange all night. He was so weak with minimal movement.
The next day, just as I was leaving the house, he flew to the window. So, I went back inside and set him free. Parting was such sweet sorrow.
(This is a plug for Kiwi’s medicinal powers- one of the most nutrient-dense fruits ever).
Fly high, briefest friend I ever had. How sweet it is that I was wrong about his final days! Humbling and miraculous.
AT THE SHORE ON 11/7/25
Find the elders. Be the elders.
May All Beings Find Peace.

SCARS OF MY HAPPINESS:

I love your posts...
Reminders of the beauty and depth of life/death that we often take for granted. Thank you :)
I grew up i. Venice and visited my aunt in Ventura often. I know the place in Ventura that you posted a photo of.
Yes, I feel the broken hearted feeling. I thought it was just me. Existential broken heart.
I love your posts. I wish you were my next door neighbor.
