Just started reading "NEXUS" and this truth hits home and leaves me with a sense of Now what? "If we Sapiens are so wise, why are we so self-destructive?".......and this "...power isn't wisdom, and after 100,000 years of discoveries, inventions, and conquests, humanity has pushed itself into an existential crisis. We are on the verge of an ecological collapse, caused by the misuse of our own power." Here's the conundrum: There are those among us who seek power for control but there are also those among us capable of using power to serve the needs of others, and the planet.

I love Yuval very much. His book Sapiens was great. I have Homo Deus in my possession but feel like I must read Nexus before Homo Deus when ready.

My question is does love have to be titled "power?" I wonder what would happen if we all ust have fewer thoughts ping ponging around in our brain and simply drop into hearts. Almost like a surrender...

Great stuff! I recently was "dismissed" by a Polish female physician in the Marietta Memorial healthcare conglomerate, probably because I'm a retired physician myself and can intimidate the younger physicians due to a long lifetime of excellent training and experience, but now retired and insured with our anemic Medicare, so not an attractive source of unlimited income for the Healthcare Industry and its wage slaves. So, I was shoveled off to a Family Practice resident of Iranian descent. He is an excellent physician with a good heart, as well as that rarest of qualities in modern docs: humility. We hit it right off, but he graduated and moved back to his family's hometown of Cleveland, OH. Now, I am passed to an Intern, who means well, I'm sure, but.... Blessings to you and your wonderful effort here. Who doesn't love Rumi?

It sounds frustrating to be ping-ponged around but this does happen when you are receiving care at resident clinics. I do think that doctors in training are great to have as physicians (best when supported). I hope you find the support that you need for your health. Thanks for commenting and reading!

Rumi is a great sage/teacher.
