I think you might enjoy the book “Good energy : the surprising connection between metabolism and limitless health” by Means, Casey. I’ve just ordered it after watching her two hour interview which discusses everything you talk about and more.

Thanks for reading and for the recommendation. I do know about Dr Casey Means and agree with a lot. I am glad she is spreading the good word. I was not aware of that book. I will check it out despite my toppling over to read stack.

I would like to live in that world, where the only question is What can I help you with? Maybe I'd throw in one more question/prompt: Tell me what life is like for you.

Good to hear you talk about Dr. Paul Farmer. What a gift it must have been to study with him and work alongside him. Thank you for the way you embody those teachings in your own work.

It does sound like utopia especially from the trenches of a dog eat dog world. Witnessing how that philosophy sickens us all.

I love your addition. Listening to each others stories- healing stories is like a balm. A reminder even.

Thanks for reading, watching, supporting.

He left us a roadmap and all avenues in current institutions are blocked- structurally violent. May we find new pathways. 💫🤞🏻

What can I help you with? This is the ultimate question, doctor. I wiahed many times in my life to hear these words, especially when I was in the hospital with cancer. I never did. Hospitals are not caring places, but you better than most know that. I will never again willingly enter a hospital. Never.

Dr Paul Farmer died of an "acute cardiac event." Given what I know about him, he died from a broken heart. He was in the wrong field. Sorry to say, medicine is a machine. It is neither humane nor kind.

Hospitalization due to physical ailment is traumatic enough and we do nothing to foster a healing atmosphere. I am sad that you had to endure it all while facing cancer.

I agree with you about hospitals- I have been exposed to them for 20 long and painful years. There is a reason they are called trauma centers. It is a failed institution and a window for all other failed societal structures.

When built on foundation of greed, they fail! I suppose this can be viewed as a promising phenomenon.

When I heard of Paul’s passing, that what the first feeling/knowing: he died of a broken heart and here i am with mine.

Thanks for reading, commenting, and sharing your story.

A varied and difficult world to adjust to, complicated by greed.

Yes. An impermanent one too. Thanks for reading!
